Devanāgarī.
aṣṭaka I has no note as to its writer. For the other aṣṭakas his name is given by the note in 442, f. 301: Aruṇācalasthala Kṛṣṇabhaṭṭānāṃ padapustakaṃ Dakṣiṇāmūrtinā likhitaṃ |
Further there are two notes relating to the accentuators: 439, f. 279: idaṃ pustaka svaritaṃ Suṃdarabhaṭṭena Rāmamaḍhohakareṇa (or ºkaraṇa?) | 441, f. 107: idaṃ pustakaṃ Kṛṣṇabhaṭṭakāśikarasya svaritaṃ Viṣṇubhaṭṭa Rāmapūrīpāpadaṃḍīkareṇa svaritaṃ | This latter person proceeds (f. 107v) to say: śrīgaṇeśāya namaḥ | pustakasya akṣaraṃ samīcīnaṃ nāsti tadvaśāt svara kvacit aśuddhaḥ |
History
aṣṭaka I is undated; it is probably of the same period as MSS. Wilson 429–432, i. e. end of 18th cent. For the other aṣṭakas the date is given by the note in 442, f. 301: śakābdaṃ 1577 ⟨1655⟩ manmathasaṃvatsaramāghamāsi |
