Devanāgarī.

the name of the scribe is carefully erased in all the colophons. The MS. was written at Benares.

History

Origin: A. D. 1715–1720.

saṃvat 1777⟨1721⟩ is given at the end of aṣṭakas III and VII; saṃvat 1776 ⟨1720⟩ at the end of aṣṭaka IV. At the end of aṣṭaka V, it is not clear whether we have to read saṃvat 1771, as Max Müller reads, or 1777. The other aṣṭakas have no date.

Provenance and Acquisition

The collections of William Hodge Mill were purchased by the Bodleian Library in 1849 and 1858.
