(2) the names of the scribes of 2 and 3 are not given, probably in 2 because the foot of the last leaf is rubbed away.

History

Origin: A. D. 1603, 1590, 1611.

(1) for 1 see f. 6v: saṃvat 1659 ⟨1603⟩ varṣe aśvanaśudi 4 gurau |

(2) for 2 see f. 76v: saṃvat 1646 ⟨1590⟩ varṣe | The rest is lost, and 1646 is somewhat uncertain.

(3) for 3 see f. 94: saṃvat 1667 ⟨1611⟩ varṣe vaiśākhavadi 9 budhe |

Provenance and Acquisition

1 and 3 (and probably 2) were apparently last in the possession of Rāmacandra, see notes on ff. 6v, 77, 94, 94v. 2 and 3 once belonged to Māṇikeśvara, son of Vīreśvara, see ff. 7, 94v. 2 once belonged to Harīśamkara, f. 29v. Cf. MS. Mill 88.

The collections of William Hodge Mill were purchased by the Bodleian Library in 1849 and 1858.
