History

Origin: 18th or 19th cent.?

the MS. is of the same type as the other modern Hodgson MSS. written at the end of the 18th or beginning of the 19th cent. It is very doubtful whether the number 860 (in Devanāgari, not Newārī figures) found at the end of the work is meant to be the date of the MS. If it is, 860 of the Newārī era will correspond to a. d. 1740.

Provenance and Acquisition

Presented to the Bodleian Library by Brian Houghton Hodgson in 1837.
